Garsington Opera runs for a month in the summer in the idyllic setting of Garsington Manor, made famous in the Bloomsbury era. The combination of music, gardens and the unusual repertoire has established it as a much loved event in the English music calendar.

Garsington Opera enthusiasts can now appreciate the magic of the Operas by visiting the website.

This opera company was founded in 1989 in the grounds of Garsington Manor. Garsington Opera explores the neglected works of first-class composers such as Haydn, Rossini, Richard Strauss and latterly of Russian and Czech composers. Garsington Opera has a well established a reputation both nationally and internationally for critically acclaimed Opera.
Garsington Opera’s ambience, culture and professionalism was not represented on their old website design.

The look and feel of the website was not a reflection of what Garsington Opera wanted to portray. Also the users of the website could not see any pictures of past performances or pictures of the magnificent gardens. This meant that only the people who attended the opera new about the magic at Garsington Opera. Garsington Opera realised they needed to hire a professional design and web team to convey the essence of the Operas and the Manor on the web.

Images captured the magic of the summer operas

The Garsington Opera project started with a comprehensive creative brief that delved into the brand of Garsington Opera to understand the culture and the ethos of the company. With these interviews and brainstorming sessions complete smARTstudiosUK’s design team set about turning this information into a stunning workable design.

Overall fives different designs were shown to the customer and these were iterated until Garsington were completely happy. This was then sent to the web development team at smARTebusiness who created the content manage system around the design. Garsington Opera can now update the content on their website without the need to contact any website professionals or have any in house web design skills.

The new Garsington Opera website was also created to capture email addresses and this has already proved a success with many people signing up each day for last minute tickets!
