awareness for a companies product. Customer find
one offering on a website and then navigate to the
main companies website to see more related products.
Blogvertising
The use of the blog medium to place adverts and to
drive customers to a website or porduct offering.
A blog is an online information piece that gets updated
by an author regularly on a certain topic. Category
specific content make this a valuable space for companies
to advertise on.
Brand Response Advertising
Allowing an advert to be have a call to action that
warrants a response. For example 'text WIDGET to
60044 to find out more about this product' is an
example of this.
Contextual Advertising
The automatic placement of adverts on category specific
webpages. eg articles about insurance would automatically
put in an ad for an online insurance company.
Podcasting
Podcasting is the recording of an audio show in a format
like mp3 and wav. The recorded audio is then made
avaiable to subscribers via an RSS feed. Once a user
has subscribed each podcast is automatically downloaded
by the persons ausio device, for example IPOD
Podvertising
The insertion of an advert into a podcast. The advert
can work like a traditional radio advert before or
after the program or can feature the service or product
actually within the audio content.
RSS Techniques
The use of a feed to distribute content. An RSS feed
uses XML to incorporate content from one source to
many sources automatically. Very effiecient data
distribution where users can sign upto RSS feeds
that are specific to their interest.
Widgets
Widgets are tools that people can download that do
a useful job on their computer. It could be a calculator
or a fitnes tool. Companies can sponsor the developement
of these tools and then get their branding on a users
desktop. |
